One of the most difficult projects that the South Aegean Region was called upon to implement, of dealing with the landslide on the road leading to the port of Athinios in Santorini, completed and delivered, a few months after the start of work, last June………….
The road was severely damaged by rock landslides, after heavy rains in March 2019, but also due to the age of its construction.
The Regional Authority proposed the need to rehabilitate the road in order to remove the danger and safety during its use. The contract with the contractor, height 826.405,66 €, for implementing the project "Dealing with a landslide on the way to the port of Athiniou regarding the location of a high retaining wall", υπεγράφη τον Μάιο του 2020. Οι εργασίες ξεκίνησαν τον Ιούνιο του 2020 and after the Region had fought to overcome as soon as possible the bureaucratic procedures of the labyrinthine institutional framework governing the execution of public works, even when they are urgent.
A high retaining wall was constructed on the road to deal with landslides and the road was restored..
Body construction project is the Directorate of Technical Works Cyclades, of the South Aegean Region and was financed by credits of the Public Investment Program N. "Another difficult task, delivered. Ήταν πράγματι ένα από τα πιο δύσκολα προβλήματα που κληθήκαμε να αντιμετωπίσουμε. Ακόμα όμως και τα πιο δύσκολα έργα, έχουν λύσεις. Ο δρόμος του Αθηνιού στη Σαντορίνη, is completed and added to the chain of results proving that, in the case of our Region, the coronavirus not only was not an alibi of inactivity but, contrary, κίνητρο απόδοσης».
