Kikilias discusses management of migration flows with UK officials in London

Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Minister Vassilis Kikilias met with high-level officials of the United Nation's Interior Ministry on Monday while in London for the London International Shipping Week.
Kikilias' meeting in the presence of UK Ambassador to Greece Matthew Lodge focused on the management of illegal migration, with British officials presenting their experience from migration flows in the English Channel.
The Greek minister described the daily challenges the Coast Guard faces in Greece, underlining that the staff have to struggle on a daily basis to protect the maritime borders while handling migration flows, especially from Libya recently. He also invited UK officials to visit Greece to see the Coast Guard's work in person, in the context of further boosting bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
